Integrative Family Life Care®

An effective concept for the Advanced Innovative Primary Healthcare Services of Tomorrow

By D. Shalomim Y. HaLahawi NMD., DNM., D.Psy(PC)., DPH., DPHC  ©2009

Integrative Family Care™ is a concept envisioned and developed by Dr. Rabbi  Shalomim Y. HaLahawi in effort  to focusing and centering Total Wellness around the Family and Community. This concept encompasses establishing  Integrative Family Life Care™ Centers and Organizations that Integrate various Services, including but not limited to, Natural Medicine, Holistic Lifestyle, Nutrition and Wellness Education, Spiritual, Religious and/or Cultural guidance, Midwifery and Natural Birthing support,  Massage and Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy/colonics,  Mental Health Support, Marriage,  Family & Career Counseling,  Sustainable living guidance, Conflict Resolutions and Community Mediation services etc….

For any Community or Nation that seeks to provide an environment that promotes prosperity, peace, longevity, health and balance to the Total man, the family must become the focus and center of all living. In an effort to promote that ancient biblical concept, Dr. HaLahawi received the vision to promote this ideology to the Holistic Lifestyle and Natural Health World.

The people are weary of being fleeced in regards to peace, happiness and health. They want to be able to live in an environment where they can focus more on their families. Where they can wake up daily and start life living instead of fighting to stay alive. There’s a demand globally for a new type of family focused Healthcare and family services. There’s an increased demand today for Centers, Clinics and Organizations (including religious institutions) where families and friends can go to in order to seek the necessary care for their various needs when they cannot be provided through every day means at home. Humanity are very intelligent people and are able to solve many of their own problems right at home, but at the same times communities and tribes develop systems for when those basic home solutions require more support from those who are skilled and placed in leadership positions to give guidance, health advice and other solutions for the community. This is where this demand is taking us today. The Healthcare industry is currently facing a backlash for failing the people. The people are demanding reforms and better quality of living. The current status quo is no longer acceptable as more knowledge about holistic health and diet in its relationship to disease and sickness , is being spread through various forms of media education.

Furthermore with the knowledge of how the Pharmaceuticals and even the Herbal and health Store Industry are taking advantage of the people at the expense of their health for the sake of profit, the people are no longer settling for wolves in sheep clothing to take advantage of them. They are looking and searching for better solutions to their every day needs. They are no longer in need of special interest groups who pose as Natural Medicines Specialists and yet separate and divide those in the Traditional medicine and indigenous World for their own profit and gain, in collaboration with allopathic special interest groups and associations. Furthermore we no longer need those Salesmen who are ill-equipped and quasi-trained providing poor quality services and false integrative healthcare in the community; whose only goal is to make profit at the peoples expense and quality of life. The Allopathic world and the Naturopathic  Special interest groups and the Salesmen have all done a great injustice to the public, communities and families. You have thousands of Hospitals, Centers, Clinics, Herbal shops and MLM’s and yet humanity’ suffering is never relieved and continues to increase at alarming rates on a global scale. This ineffectiveness has proven that the current trend and methods being used in Healthcare industry, both Allopathic and Naturopathic/Natural health, have failed the people and must be re-evaluated and refocused on the original intent of Medicine, which is the people, Not for Profit.

You cannot expect Medicine to advance on one hand while the other hand is continuously hacking away at thousands of years of tradition and indigenous holistic lifestyle and medicine knowledge that has kept families and communities together, in the name of public safety. Public safety does not create special interest groups that separate and divide under the color of federal and state law. True public safety, that’s in the interest of keeping communities and families together and healthy, create  standards for effective healthcare that is focused on the choices and will of the people to choose their own methods of care and allowing the various healing arts to work together under a common banner. It creates a unity amongst various healthcare professionals to more effectively provide innovative integrative and complementary health care services, not a monopoly for the purposes of control.

Integrative services should also be focused on Skills and Education development, thereby integrating and accepting more than one path and mode of educational methods.  Whether it be traditional educational studies, Apprenticeships or a combination of Traditional, Distance Education and apprenticeships (including clinical ) that would encourage the student to obtain the necessary theoretic and clinical skills required to effectively fulfill the position being sought(Naturopathic  Physician, Natural Medicine Doctor, Midwife etc). NARM(North American Registry of Midwives) is a perfect example of an Accrediting Organization successfully integrating  and accepting various modes of education routes in order to become a Licensed Professional Midwife.  They have registered hundreds of very effective Midwives who have chosen either the formal educational classroom route or the distant education and apprenticeship route. This is a very serious and important part of Healthcare and yet the success rate of natural births out of hospitals has been phenomenal.. Midwives once licensed after 3-5 years of study are just as effective as Naturopathic Physicians who attend 4 years post graduate colleges to obtain 4500 hours of medical and clinical skills or Natural Medicine Doctors who obtain 4000 hours of Medical and Clinical Skills through Private Post Secondary Institutions and Colleges. In some states Professional Midwives are able to run Primary Care Birth Centers(which can easily integrate natural medicine practice).  They have proven that there’s no one way to obtain highly advanced Clinical skills and education in order to be an effective healthcare provider. In fact apprenticeships promotes hands on skills from day one which in my opinion is more effective than the traditional classroom education method and it promotes advanced education that doesn’t have to be drawn out for long periods of time(up  to 8 years). The US military in Afghanistan has proven that advanced hands on training in midwifery can be obtain in  a matter of weeks when that demand is required in a warzone or disaster area. The Records speak for themselves.  American is in Quality of Health warzone and is in great need of New Innovative Healthcare Leaders!!! However both methods should be integrated and accepted in the Healthcare industry amongst the Natural Medicine Doctors, Naturopaths and Naturopathic Physicians and maybe one day amongst the Allopaths(Doctor/Teacher Physician, Student/Apprentice relationship) .

If a particular practitioner has not obtained the adequate amount of clinical skills in his education from a particular legal institution(Public or Private) to effectively carry out certain functions of Natural Healthcare, then he/she should not be penalized by special interest groups and colleges, but encourage to demonstrate his knowledge from prior learning and pursue the additional skills through whichever route or preferences(Traditional or Apprenticeship) that has the facilities to advance him/her in those clinicals, with full consideration of his/her current education and skills being applied towards the advance clinical education and without degrading his current understandings and educational routes that are acquired through legal institutions and apprenticeships by other Certified/Licensed Healthcare providers(foreign and domestic).. Education is Inte-gratable and no one, two or four Institutions is going to be effective and/or better than the other thousands that exist. There’s no monopoly in true knowledge.

This is True family and community focused  Integrative service, where there is unity amongst diversity and not division and special interests groups.

Integrative family Life care™ requires Strong moral, ethical and interpersonal leadership skills accompanied by the specialized training and education in the areas of the services being provided and a calling to service and minister to the people in a professional sustainable way.  It also requires that leaders began to work together and utilize the skills, training and talents of each other in order to accomplish the goal of Integrating Holistic and family focused services.

When MD’s, Chiropractors, Naturopathic Physicians, Naturopaths, Naturopathic Doctors, Natural Medicine Doctors, Oriental Medicine Doctors, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners, Homeopathic Doctors, Midwives, Nurse Midwives, Massage Therapists, Physical-therapists, Nutritionist and Dieticians, Psychologists and Pastoral Counselors etc, put down their swords and stop trying to murder each others profession and learn to work together, then perhaps the community and World will no longer have to suffer and experience Medical Murder at the hands of those who seek to control instead of to HEAL…

The OATH of Natural (i.e. True Orthodox Medicine -Traditional Naturopathic Medicine, Derived from the Original Hippocratic Oath)

I, Kohen Shalomim Y. Halahawi, Spiritual leader, Naturopathic Physician and Healer,  SWEAR by Yahwah Elohim, the Eternal Father and Mother, Divine Creator of the Heavens and Earth, and by Yahwah’s Malak, Rapha’El,  the appointed heavenly physician, and by health, that according to my ability and judgment, I will keep this Oath and this stipulation-- to reckon him who taught me this Art equally dear to me as my parents, to share my substance with him, and relieve his necessities if required; to look upon his offspring in the same footing as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they shall wish to learn it, and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction, I will impart a knowledge of the Art to my own sons, and those of my teachers, and to disciples bound by a stipulation and oath according to the law of natural medicine, but to none others. I will follow that system of regimen which, according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous. I will give no deadly, unnatural or allopathic medicine to any one if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give to a woman a pessary to produce abortion. With purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practice my Art as a prophetic Healing Ministry. I will not cut persons laboring under the stone, but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners of this work. Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for the benefit of the sick, and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief and corruption; and, further, from the seduction of females or males, of freemen and slaves. Whatever, in connection with my professional service, or not in connection with it, I see or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret. While I continue to keep this Oath unviolated, may it be granted to me, by Yahwah Elohim, to enjoy life and the practice of the art and Prophetic Ministry, respected by all men, in all times. But should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse be my lot.

The Law of  Natural Medicine

1. Natural Medicine is of all the arts the most noble; but, owing to the ignorance of those who practice it in allopathic systems, and of those who, inconsiderately, form a judgment of them, it is at present far behind all the other arts. Their mistake appears to me to arise principally from this, that in the cities there is no punishment connected with the practice of poisonous medicine (and with it alone) except disgrace, and that does not hurt those who are familiar with it. Such persons are the figures which are introduced in tragedies, for as they have the shape, and dress, and personal appearance of an actor, but are not actors, so also physicians are many in title but very few in reality.

2. Whoever is to acquire a competent knowledge of medicine, ought to be possessed of the following advantages: a natural disposition; instruction; a favorable position for the study; early tuition; love of labor; leisure. First of all, a natural talent is required; for, when Nature leads the way to what is most excellent, instruction in the art takes place, which the student must try to appropriate to himself by reflection, becoming an early pupil in a place well adapted for instruction. He must also bring to the task a love of labor and perseverance, so that the instruction taking root may bring forth proper and abundant fruits.

3. Instruction in natural (i.e true Orthodox) medicine is like the culture of the productions of the earth. For our natural disposition, is, as it were, the soil; the tenets of our teacher are, as it were, the seed; instruction in youth is like the planting of the seed in the ground at the proper season; the place where the instruction is communicated is like the food imparted to vegetables by the atmosphere; diligent study is like the cultivation of the fields; and it is time which imparts strength to all things and brings them to maturity.

4. Having brought all these requisites to the study of Natural medicine, and having acquired a true knowledge of it, we shall thus, in traveling through the cities, be esteemed (true) physicians not only in name but in reality. But inexperience is a bad treasure, and a bad fund to those who possess it, whether in opinion or reality, being devoid of self-reliance and contentedness, and the nurse both of timidity and audacity. For timidity betrays a want of powers, and audacity a lack of skill. They are, indeed, two things, knowledge and opinion, of which the one makes its possessor really to know, the other to be ignorant.

5. Those things which are sacred, are to be imparted only to sacred persons; and it is not lawful to impart them to the profane until they have been initiated into the mysteries of the science.

The Ancient Hebrews Scriptures concerning the Traditional Naturopathic Physician and Herbal Medicines

Sirach 38:1-15  Honour the physician for the need thou hast of him: for the most High hath created his profession.  (2)  For all healing is from Elah, and he shall receive gifts of the king.  (3)  The skill/knowledge of the physician makes him esteemed and distinguished, and in the sight of great men he shall be praised.  (4)  The most High hath created herbal medicines out of the earth, and a wise man will not abhor/neglect them.  (5)  Was not bitter water made sweet by the twig?  (6)  The virtue of these things is come to the knowledge of men, and the most High hath given knowledge to men, that he may be honoured in his wonders.  (7)  By these he shall cure and shall allay their pains, and of these the druggist prepares his medicines, and shall make up ointments of health, and of his works there shall be no end.  (8)  For the peace of Elah is over all the face of the earth.  (9)  My son, in thy sickness neglect not thyself, but pray to Yahwah, and he shall heal thee.  (10)  Turn away from sin and order thy hands aright, and cleanse thy heart from all offence.  (11)  Give a sweet savour, and a memorial of fine flour, and make a fat offering, and then give place to the physician, lest he leave, for you need him too.  (12)  For Yahwah created him: and let him not depart from thee, for his works are necessary.  (13)  For there is a time when thou must fall into their hands:  (14)  And they shall beseech  Yahwah, that his diagnosis may be correct  so that what they give for treatment and remedy will bring about a cure.  (15)  He who is a sinner towards his Maker, will be defiant towards the physician.
